Baltimore county recreation and parks
Branding
The Challenge: The Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks (BCRP) aimed to update their logo from the Maryland state seal to something modern, community-focused, inclusive, and easily recognizable.
I began by researching competitors and partner organizations to ensure the new logo was unique. Concurrently, I explored BCRP's community impact and developed initial logo concepts, which evolved into refined designs.
The Solution: The new logo reflected BCRP's core values. The three figures forming a tree trunk symbolize Baltimore County residents working together. The logo embodies community, strength, and resilience. The tree’s leaves represent BCRP’s diverse facilities and programs, showcasing opportunities for all. The figures reaching for the leaves illustrate growth and development. The logo was presented with various applications, including mockups for social media, merchandise, and billboards, demonstrating its versatility.
